Okay, first check out Amey's hilariously failed attempt to look evil. She doesn't have an evil bone in her body. She's so sweet she can't even fake it! Isn't it appropriate that this dark and forboding ziricote guitar is bound in delicious bloodwood? Mwahahahahahahaaa!

Lookin' Good

Here are the latest two galleries of progress pictures for Chris' redwood/ziricote multi-scale baritone guitar.
Gallery 6
Gallery 7
As you can see, I've finished bracing the rim, assembled it to the top, braced the back, and assembled that as well onto the rim. Gallery 7 shows the box closed up...always a fun milestone in the construction process. Next I'll be routing the channels for the bloodwood binding. More soon!

Preparing for some assembly
Progress is steady on Chris' multi-scale redwood and ziricote baritone. As you can see, I've assembled the rim the headblock and tailblock and glued in the kerfing. I've completed slightly assymetrical bracing, which arises from the slanted bridge that will be on this guitar. When I design the bracing of a guitar top, the starting point is mapping out where the saddle will be and the footprint of the bridge. From there, I decide on the size and dimension of the bridge plate, lay out the 2 large x-braces, and from there things largely fall into place.

Top and Back Joined Up, Rosette's In

Here are the latest pictures of my progress on Chris' multi-scale baritone guitar. As you can see, I've jointed the redwood top, made up a beautiful ziricote rosette, and sanded it to a smooth surface. I've also jointed the ziricote back, which has a really dramatic bookmatched grain pattern, along with a bloodwood backstrip that will match the binding. More soon! :)

Chris' Multi-Scale Baritone, Comin' Up!

Yesterday I bent a mesmerising set of ziricote sides with some deep-red bloodwood binding. This wood *wants* to be a guitar; the sides bent like a dream. Note the multi-scale ziricote fingerboard has been slotted as well. This guitar's gonna be a beauty...redwood top, with ziricote right up the middle on the bridge, rosette, fingerboard and peghead. Yeah, I'm excited about it! :)
