The Healdsburg Guitar Festival was a blast! I got to meet some of my long distance customers, make some new friends, see some fantastic playing, covet some amazing guitars, and trade notes with other builders. Here are some pictures and captions of our weekend at HGF 07. Big thanks to Luthiers Mercantile for organizing a fantastic festival!

Gettin' Real Excited About Healdsburg

I'm really getting excited about Healdsburg now. Over the next few days I'll put together a little page of all the instruments I'm bringing to the festival. I just took Don Alder's new Grand Concert and Baritone into a photo shoot so I'll have some clearer shots of these up on the site soon. For now, here's a close up of the Bloodwood Ryan Armrest Bevel on that Grand Concert. The other guitars I'll have at the show are a Sitka Spruce/African Mahogany Grand Concert, a European Spruce/Sapele Grand Concert, and an Italian Alpine Spruce/Macassar Ebony Concert Nylon, and Jack's Cedar/Koa Baritone. If you are at the festival, I hope you'll make time to sit down and have a careful listen to all of these beauties. I'll be delighted answer all your questions about them. Only two more weeks!

Happy Birthday for Don Alder's Grand Concert
Happy Birthday for Don Alder's Brand New Adirondack Spruce and Honduran Mahogany Grand Concert! Don, I think you're gonna like it, it's got a real nice woody tone. See you in two weeks! I'll be delivering this guitar to Don at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival here in California Auguust 17-19. If you're there please be sure to have a spin on Don's new axe. :)
Aaron's Cocobolo Arena is ready for lacquer

Aaron's Arena OM is all finish-sanded and detailed and ready for lacquer. The top wood is European spruce. The back and sides, headplates, fingerboard, rosette, and bridge are all cocobolo, and the binding is curly koa. Aaron included many options on his guitar, such as the Ryan bevel, the Manzer wedge, the multiscale geometry, the side soundport, and the cutaway.
