Another Birthday!

Alan came by for a visit last week to test drive his brand new German bearclaw spruce and cocobolo Deep Baritone. He left it with me so that I could let the tension soak in and fine-tune his setup. Well Alan, it's ready when you are. I really love the beauty of the cocobolo bridge and fingerboard. I like the look so much that I drove up to my supplier to hand-select about a dozen matching sets with beautiful webby figure. I'll definitely be suggesting this to my customers. Alan chose to have a soundhole in the side of his guitar. The side hole passes a relatively bass-heavy balance, which really fits the deep baritone's register. Anywhere within eight feet of the guitar there's a distinct stereo-phasing effect from the dual soundholes and it really adds richness to the tone. In blind tests, we were unable to hear any kind of difference fifteen feet out in front of the guitar. Good idea, Alan! I'll be suggesting this to future baritone customers. By the way, that's Stevie Wonder with Alan. Isn't she lovely?
